Most of us are overwhelmed by daily bombardments from email, SMS, WhatsApp, Slack, social media, and endless other channels. Paradoxically often ignoring the messages that are most important to us.

By design, AWE tiles can show messages only in certain places, and only from people who have access to the Tile which means family, yourself or close friends. This allows you to more often turn off other messaging channels and make your life calmer and more anchored in your intimate physical and social environment.

Use AWE screen shot sharing to:

• Leave pictures or messages for a partner or housemate who often misses phone messages. And be 100% sure it will be read.
• Send a picture to your young kids who don’t have cell phones.
• Send yourself a reminder that you will read when you are back home. An inspirational quote to the tile at the bedstand, or a recipe to the tile in the kitchen, or a reminder to take out the garbage for the tile near the garage.
• Send a message to your grandmother or father who do not use cell phones.
• Leave messages for your best friend who has phone-free evenings.
• Send a message to the tile on the kitchen table that everyone in your household will see and can talk about while they are having dinner without you. Tell them something funny, show them the view from your window, or when you will be home.
• Send something more personal to the ones you love: A message or picture that won’t be buried under messages from work, or Instagram notifications, but remains visible for longer. For them to wake up to, or go to bed with.

Sharing screen shots to a tile is not meant for debate or urgent communication. If you need to warn about an approaching tsunami, or debate whether pineapple belongs on a pizza, use your phone.

How to use screen shot sharing

The APP uses your phone’s native ‘share’ functionality to share pictures or screen shots directly to a specific tile. This mirrors other picture sharing or file uploading from your phone: You push the ‘share’ icon, select the AWE APP, pick the specific tile to share the screen shot to, and voila!

Because you can share any screen shot, this method can also be used to share written messages or drawings or anything else. Either via a screenshot, or within the app you are using if this app offers picture options.

The screen shot that is shared will remain displayed on the physical tile until anyone does a hard reset (button 3) on the tile, after which the tile will revert to the category it was displaying before - the weather for example. This means that the person doing the reset will always see the message. See a step-by-step overview at the bottom below
